Las Vegas Celebrates Return of Overseas Visitors

Las Vegas, the same day the U.S. reopened its borders to fully vaccinated international travelers. Resorts up and down the Las Vegas Strip celebrated this moment by welcoming international visitors with multilingual mark messages.

And I’m excited that Las Vegas is at the top of your list,” said Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak. “Las Vegas continues to evolve. Las Vegas welcomed 5.7 million international visitors in 2019, a direct economic impact of $4.8 billion. Before the pandemic, Las Vegas welcomed nonstop flights from 31 cities in 12 countries.

“This is a watershed moment for Las Vegas when international borders open and international visitors are welcome back to their destinations,” said Steve Hill, president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Association. “In addition to being a global leisure destination, our major trade shows and conventions have a large international delegation, and we are very optimistic about the opportunities ahead.”

The residences of superstar recording artists, including Sting and Usher at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Shania Twain at the Zappos Theater inside the Miracle Mile Shop in Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, Earth Wind and Fire at the Venetian Theater in Las Vegas, Carlos Santana and David Lee Ross at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Wayne Newton at the Bugsy Cabaret in Flamingo Las Vegas, Carrie Underwood and Katy Perry at Resorts World Las Vegas, Brian Adams at the Encore Theater in Wynn Las Vegas, and Journey at Virgin Hotel Las Vegas, will debut and continue for the rest of 2021.
