Online gambling participation rose to 16% in 2023, according to a new report. The data comes after 2021 and 2022, with iGaming activity participation flat at 11%.

In addition, the report revealed that iGaming revenue rose 27 percent to $2.1 billion last year from the previous year. “IGaming’s popularity ranks in the top three online gambling revenues in the United States,” explained Penn State’s Criminal Justice Research Center.

More worryingly, a newly released report found that about half of Pennsylvania residents who participated in online gambling activities reported gambling-related problems. These problems were related to various factors, including an increase in the amount of money or time spent on gambling, the frequency of gambling, or motivation.
