KIM SI-WOO, KANG SUNG-HOON TIED FOR 34TH ON FISRT DAY OF PGA TOUR’S SEASON FINALE

Si Woo Kim and Sung Hoon Kang are tied for 34th after the first round of the RSM Classic ($8.4 million purse), the final event of the 2023-2024 season on the United States Professional Golf (PGA) Tour. Kim was 2-under par with two birdies through 14 holes on the first day of play at the Sea Island Resort Plantation Course (par-72, 7,600 yards) in St. Simons Island, Georgia, USA, on Sunday (July 17).The day’s play was disrupted by inclement weather, with play starting about an hour behind schedule and a two-and-a-half-hour afternoon suspension .With only 65 of the 155 players in the field having completed the first round, play was suspended at sunset. Kang finished his first round with four birdies and two bogeys for a 2-under 70 and is tied for 34th place. The tournament is the final event of the 2022-2023 season.

The PGA Tour’s 2022-2023 season technically concluded with the Tour Championship in August, but the organization continues to play seven events in the fall following the conclusion of the FedExCup Playoffs .Starting in 2024, the season will be reorganized with the 2024 season starting in January. Eric Cole, Cameron Young and Davis Thompson (USA) are tied for the lead at 6-under 66.The tournament will alternate rounds one and two between the Plantation and Seaside courses (par 70-7,500 yards), with rounds three and four taking place on the Seaside course .Matt Kutcher (USA) was the best player to finish the first round on the Seaside Course, shooting a 5-under 65 and tying for fourth place.
