Border-Casino operator Donaco International achieved positive quarterly results before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the first time since early 2021, the chairman said in a filing with the Australian Stock Exchange on Friday.

The company’s group EBITDA, which operates casinos on Cambodia’s Thai border and Vietnam’s Chinese border, stood at A$1.5 million ($962,313) in the three months to Sept. 30, compared with negative group EBITDA of A$1.04 million in the previous quarter.

“We are pleased that Donaco has achieved positive EBITDA in the first quarter since early 2021 and what is important is that real additional growth potential is on the horizon,” Portat Amatavivadana, non-executive chairman, quoted in the results filing, said.

He added that the group’s Cambodian property in DNA star Vegas’ Poipet “has produced strong results very quickly after reopening, which is evidence of the operational strategy Donaco has implemented and we expect to be sustainable.” 경마사이트

DNA Star Vegas closed in April 2021 due to COVID-19 measures, and only reopened in mid-June this year, according to the company’s announcement.

“We are confident that we can replicate this strategy in the future in Aristotle, which is currently limitedly open,” the chairman said in an update on Friday, referring to the Lao Kai Vietnamese property of the Aristotle International Hotel

The group’s quarterly net profit rose nearly 500% in the three months to Sept. 30. Such quarterly net income was A$4.53 million, of which A$4.1 million came from DNA Star Vegas. GROUP NET PROFIT ATTRIBUTABLE A$0.76 MILLION.

Cambodia hosts property level EBITDA was A$2.22 million in the reporting quarter, compared to A$620 million in the year-ago quarter.
