Positive for growth outlook despite widening net loss in first half

Wevis Holdings’ non-executive chairman Denham Eke said he was “optimistic” about the potential for future business growth, despite reporting a wider net loss in the first half of the year.

Revenue for the six months ended Nov. 31, 2023 was $5.9 million (£4.7 million/€5.4 million), down 4.8% from $6.2 million reported in the prior year by pre-deposit betting (ADW) operator Webis.

Eke and Webis attributed the drop mainly to external factors in the second quarter. He said this included the cancellation of many U.S. events due to unfavorable U.S. weather conditions. Eke, on the other hand, said trading was stronger over the summer. 파친코

The drop in sales boosted Wevis’s losses, along with the fact that H1 spending remained level. But Eke is optimistic about the company’s performance in the second half of the year.

“Our main subsidiary, WatchandWager.com , again had various starts in the first six months of the fiscal year,” Eke said, adding, “We are optimistic that the transaction will improve on expectations, especially as the rollout of our new B2C marketing strategy continues.”
