NETELLER WILL SEAL DEAL, RETURN U.S. MONEY

NETELLER announced today that it will pay the U.S. government $136 million to admit crimes during the U.S. gambling process as part of a deal agreed with U.S. prosecutors.

The company will also begin the process of returning money to U.S. customers no later than July 30. All U.S. accounts were frozen in January following the arrests of NETeller co-founders John Lefebvre and Stephen Lawrence.

In a similar plea deal earlier this month, Lefebvre and Lawrence both admitted deliberately violating the law by handling gambling deals for Americans. The two will be sentenced this fall and sentenced to up to five years in prison. 온라인경마

All criminal charges will be dismissed if NETeller fulfills all the terms of the agreement, which also includes implementing procedures to prevent U.S. customers from using its services for online gambling, the company said in a statement.

The $136 million NETeller now owes the U.S. government, including $60 million seized by the Justice Department in January as part of an investigation into the popular e-wallet.
