The professional volleyball men’s OK Financial Group, Woori Card, and KEPCO all expressed their condolences at the news of the death of former player Choi Hong-seok.

The three clubs said on their official Instagram account on the 10th, “We pray for the souls of the deceased.” 파친코

Coach and players, including OK Financial Group’s manager Ogiino, wore supporting ribbons at the Woori Card match held at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul.

Woori Card coach Shin Young-chul paid tribute to the deceased before the game, saying, “He was a good-hearted player.”

Choi Hong-seok, born in 1988, joined Dream Six (currently Woori Card) as the first overall draft pick in the 2011-2012 rookie draft, played for OK Financial Group for three seasons from 2019 after going through KEPCO in 2018.

Choi Hong-seok, who won the Triple Crown (serve, blocking, and back attack more than three each) in three games since his debut, won the Rookie of the Year award that year.

In 2009-2012 and 2015-2017, he showed off his skills at various international competitions, including the Asian Championships and the World League.

Choi Hong-seok, who retired from active duty after the 2021-2022 season, died on the 9th after serving as a commentator on SBS Sports last year.
