Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol officials are set to begin construction on a new $400 million casino on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. “Bristol Casino – Future Home of Hard Rock” celebrated its grand opening on July 8, 2022, in Bristol, Virginia, just seconds from Interstate 81 (Exit VA 1) where the former Bristol Mall was located. Located inside the former mall, the temporary full-service casino includes 30,000 square feet of casino space, 870 slot machines, more than 20 live table games and sportsbooks. *In March 2023, this makeshift casino expanded its gaming space and added low-minimum slot machines and blackjack tables. The venue has three dining options: a sports bar with live entertainment, a lounge, and a rock shop. Customers can also use the brand’s Unity by Hard Rock global loyalty program.
Permanent facility plans include two towers, a 600-room hotel, convention and conference space, a total of seven restaurants including the Hard Rock Hotel’s flagship luxury restaurant, Council Oak Steak & Seafood, four bars/lounges, a 3,200-seat Hard Rock Live venue, a 20,000-seat outdoor entertainment venue, a country-western nightlife experience, a stage, rock shop and retail stores, a rock spa and body rock fitness center, and a hard rock cafe with convention space.
According to the latest plans for the Bristol site, the facility will also recreate nearly 100,000 square feet of gaming space as a racing experience, sports experience and interactive sports and esports simulator, along with 2,700 slot machines, 100 table games and sports betting.
