Clay Thompson, who played as a key player for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, will move to the Dallas Mavericks.
U.S. sports media ESPN reported that Thompson, who became a free agent and FA, will sign a three-year, $50 million contract with Dallas for about 69.2 billion won.

Thompson, who was drafted by Golden State with the 11th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Rookie Draft, is considered one of the leading players of the Golden State era.
He played in 793 regular league games, averaging 19.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
He was a five-time All-Star and won the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Rio Olympics.
In particular, he rose to the top of the NBA four times, in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022, and played an active role as a “Splash Duo” with Stephen Curry.
Dallas, who finished runner-up in the 2023-2024 championship game, has signed Thompson along with existing Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving to build a strong offense.
However, Thompson, who is in his mid-30s, scored 17.9 points in the 2023-2024 season, averaging less than 20 points in 10 years since the 2013-2014 season, when he scored 18.4 points.
Golden State, where Chris Paul transferred to the San Antonio Spurs as an FA the day before, recruited DeAnthony Melton, who averaged 11.1 points for the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2023-2024 season, to minimize power loss.
